Search the engine for Utopia

Utopia is a general term referring to a place that does not exist, solely as a result of it being perfect. Nevertheless, Utopia can exist in everyone’s mind due to it’s subjective nature. Anyone can imagine a universe in which everything is so perfect that there is no room left for improvement. This place doesn’t have to touch every aspect of a person’s life, it just has to take care of the things that one is concerned with at the time of creating his Utopia. I’d like to share with you one of those moments of enlightenment that I’ve recently experienced.

My last Utopia was a product of a desire that I had for a slush drink roused by a very hot summer day. In order to discover a way to satisfy my lust for a frozen drink in a home environment, I turned to my usual savior, GOOGLE. I entered the words: ’slush’, ‘recipe’ and waited the whole tenth of a second until Google has generated it’s search results. Then it took me another 20 minutes to find a decent recipe. The worst thing is that the slush wasn’t much of a delicacy. Many would say that there is nothing wrong with that picture, and that I’m just spoiled since it would take me a much longer time to find this information in a library or a book store or even in another search engine; maybe they would be right, however they certainly haven’t paid a visit in my non existing place, my Utopian search engine. There, it would take at most 20 seconds from the moment of typing those words until the moment of rising up off the chair to grab the ice cubes from the fridge, and that too is just because of me being a slow reader. Moreover, it maybe wouldn’t be the best slush in the world, but it definitely would be the best one that the Internet could offer.

Hi my name is Alexander and I’m co-authoring this blog along with my friend, Jenia. We have an agenda that we hope everyone can relate to. Although this is just my first post, I already have two requests: Firstly, I’m asking to be excused for my English; it’s not my native language and I have no experience writing in it, please don’t judge me by my language skills. Secondly, I’m an economist in my soul and by education, accordingly I tend to look at things from an economic point of view (it will become more obvious in my future posts), so please be easy on me on that.
